Chief Master Sergeant Erik C. Thompson is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 27th Special Operations Wing, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. In this position, he serves as the principal enlisted advisor to the Commander on all issues affecting the health, morale, welfare, professional development and effective utilization of more than 5,900 personnel directly supporting the CV-22, AC-130W, MC-130J, C-146, U-28, and MQ-9 Remotely Piloted Aircraft as well as tenant intelligence and Special Tactics squadrons.

Chief Thompson entered the Air Force from Fort Pierce, Florida in June of 1993. He is a Chief Enlisted Aircrew member with more than 3,600 hours as a Flight Engineer in both C-130E and MC-130H aircraft.
