4/30/2012 - CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Base personnel and members of the Airman and Family Readiness Center from Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., journeyed to Lubbock, Texas, to meet with a group of girl scouts and receive a very generous donation on April 28.
The Girl Scouts of Texas and Oklahoma Plains donated 2,700 boxes of cookies to be shipped to deployed service members.
"Most of the troops overseas are aware of the fact that these goods are donated by people wanting to show their support," said Master Sgt. Richard Gomez, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron. "We can't say thank you enough to these amazing girls who did such an outstanding thing for our deployed military members."
This is the second year the organization has made a contribution to Air Commandos stationed at Cannon.
