Release Number: 010812

8/14/2012 - CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Several planned power outages are scheduled at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., during construction Aug. 21 through mid October.

These outages are required to allow contractors and Airmen from the 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron to bury overhead electric utility poles and convert them to underground electrical infrastructure. This will work toward preventing future power outages due to severe weather or other unexpected threats to overhead utility lines.

In the short term there will be temporary disruptions to services available. Click here for a tentative list of outages.

Please visit the Cannon website at www.cannon.af.mil, Facebook at www.facebook.com/27thSpecialOperationsWing, or Twitter at twitter.com/#!/27SOW_CANNONAFB for questions and additional updates on the outage's impact to base personnel and the local community.
