Cannon Air Force Base Open House 2011

 COMMANDER'S INVITE

On behalf of the Air Commandos here at Cannon Air Force Base, we invite you to attend our second annual Open House on September 24, 2011. This free public event will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will feature our specialized airpower capabilities.

Many Air Force and Special Operations aircraft will be on static display, including our light tactical airlift aircraft, the remotely-piloted MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper, the MC-130W Dragon Spear, the venerable AC-130H gunship, the CV-22 Osprey and other combat vehicles and equipment employed in worldwide military operations.

This year's event will include an aerial review flyby of 27 SOW aircraft, demonstrations from our military working dogs and explosive ordnance disposal teams, and a performance from the Air Force country music ensemble, "Wild Blue Country."

Free parking will be available at Doc Stewart Park, just outside the Cannon AFB Main Gate. Free buses will transport you directly to and from the flight line events. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, so we request that you not bring alcohol, coolers or large bags. This will help speed visitors through the security lines.

We look forward to showcasing Cannon's capabilities to our local community, friends and families.

BUCK ELTON,
Colonel, USAF
Commander
