CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. --   After spending the day learning about the Air Force Academy's LEAD, or Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development program, Cannon Singles Ministry Airmen painted put on their game face and cheered the Falcons on as they sank Navy 14-6.

Forty-four Airmen traveled north to Colorado Springs for the game, but before they headed to the stadium, they discovered that the Air Force is looking for outstanding enlisted Airmen with leadership potential to fill appointments to the U. S. Air Force Academy.

The program, initiated former Air Force Chief of Staff Ronald Fogelman in 1995, allocates slots for enlisted Airmen at the United States Air Force Academy. There are 85 slots reserved for direct appointment and 50 slots reserved for the Academy Preparatory School.
