Base driving guidelines updated
CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. --
Driving guidelines on Cannon have been updated as of July 18, and the following changes were made to AFI 31-204, Cannon Air Force Base Supplement:
Radar detectors must be unplugged and out of sight;
Regardless of weight, Children 6-years old and younger and children who weight less than 60 pounds, regardless of age, must be properly secured in a federally certified child-restraint booster system;
Accumulation of 12 or more points within a 12-month period or 18 points in a 27-month period may result in a suspension or revocation of base driving privileges for up to a year; and
Individuals driving on base who are cited for not wearing a seatbelt will have their base driving privileges suspended for seven days for the first offense. A second offense will result in a 30-day suspension and a third offense will result in a 60-day suspension.
These changes supersede the April. 17, 2007 version of the supplement.
