The 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron is slated to begin offering a shuttle service from Cannon Air Force Base to Clovis Friday, according to Maj. Anthony Pickett, 27 SOFSS commander.

The goal of the “Cannon Flyer” shuttle is to improve Airmen’s quality of life by providing a safe and reliable mode of transportation for Cannon dormitory residents without cars, Pickett said.

“We want Airmen to be able to enjoy activities in the local community, whether it's a meal downtown or catching a movie, and this shuttle will provide members of Team Cannon with transportation,” added Capt. Hillary Hedberg, 27 SOFSS operations officer.

The shuttle will run on Fridays and Saturdays, picking Airmen up at the Community Center on base, then dropping them off in town near Clovis’s shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

While the preference is for riders to sign up in advance at the Community Center, riders are also able to catch the shuttle at any drop off or pick up location in town. To board, passengers will need to present their Department of Defense ID. Rides cost $4 cash each way.
