27th SOMDG celebrates 4A/MSC Appreciation Week

CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. --  The 27th Special Operations Medical Group is celebrating an appreciation week for health administration technicians, also known as 4As, and Medical Service Corps officers at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, Oct. 29 to Nov. 2. The annual appreciation week is an Air Force Medical Service-wide celebration that takes place during the last week of October and celebrates the contributions and dedication of healthcare administration professionals.

“This week recognizes the hard work and dedication of the 27th SOMDG 4As and MSCs to provide trusted care to all our beneficiaries,” said Lt. Col. Tim Schmidt, 27th Special Operations Medical Support Squadron commander, and 27th SOMDG administrator.

Health administrators and technicians support the medical services delivered across the AFMS. The professions are comprised of officer and enlisted Air Force Specialty Codes to include medical service corps officers, health administrative technicians, medical logistic technicians, and biomedical equipment technicians.

The health administrative staff utilizes their wide skillset and knowledge to strategically manage aeromedical evacuation, group practice management, information systems management, medical logistics, medical readiness, resources management, and TRICARE operations and patient administration, both in-garrison and in deployed environments.

Over the course of the week, 60 4As and MSCs engaged in various bonding and social events that cultivated the four Comprehensive Airmen Fitness pillars. This year’s theme is “Disruptive Innovation...Driving Trusted Care for Today & Tomorrow."

“This time allows the 4As and MSCs to build camaraderie and reflect on their amazing accomplishments while invigorating in our primary mission – delivering Trusted Care,” Schmidt said.
