Registration is currently open for the 2013 Summer Reading Program, "Have Book - Will Travel", at the Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., library.

Open to both children and adults, the program is available to all authorized Cannon library card holders. Air Commandos and their families can register at any time. The summer reading program will end Aug. 10.

"Participants in both programs [youth and adult] read for the fun of it and earn prizes," said Melissa Haraughty, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron supervisory librarian. "The prizes this year include t-shirts, book lights, travel mugs, blankets, gift cards and more. There are also professional storytellers, crafts and other activities scheduled throughout the program."

The top reader in each age group will be eligible for Air Force-level prizes.

All reading in the youth program is logged by minutes read while the adult program is logged by book. Reading materials must be age appropriate and do not have to be checked out from the Cannon library, though it is encouraged.
