Military shoppers who prefer the ease and organization that an eReceipt provides can skip the paper receipt and have documentation of their transaction emailed to them when shopping at the Cannon Exchange at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M.

Shoppers simply provide their email address and phone number at checkout to sign up to receive eReceipts.

"Purchase receipts by email makes storing and organizing much easier," said Aileen Rivenburg, Cannon Exchange general manager. "An additional benefit to eReceipts is that it helps reduce paper consumption, which is better for the environment."

The Cannon Exchange is one of 60 stores participating in the eReceipt pilot program, with the worldwide launch scheduled for June 10.

Shoppers who elect to receive an eReceipt after the worldwide launch in June will be entered into a drawing to win their entire purchase. Each time the eReceipt option is chosen, the shopper will be entered into the contest. Ultimately, five customers will win.
