The program will offer the new graduates a daily schedule that is flexible, secure and full of stimulation to meet their needs. "There will be daily opportunities for quiet activities as well as socializing opportunities with friends, which is critical to a child's development," said Monique Hyman, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron youth programs director. "Individual children will be allowed to choose activities and work on projects at their own pace." The staff will adapt the class projects in order to ensure they are appropriate for the different ages and interest levels of the children. The School Age Program consists of the Before and After School programs that operate during the school year and the Summer Camp program. During the summer, children will participate in swimming, bowling, skating and gardening. "Indoor activities include theater arts, fine arts, life skills, science, computer and homework assistance and leadership and community services," said Denise VanDerwarker, 27 SOFSS Airman and Family Services flight chief. "Outdoor activities include basketball, soccer, playground time and nature activities."
