For Air Commandos who love do-it-yourself projects and are not afraid to get their hands dirty, the classes offered by the Auto Skills Center at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M, are ideal.

The Auto Skills Center is scheduled to teach a Basic Car Care Class from 5:30 -7:30 p.m., May 10, 2013. Some elements of the class include hands-on lessons on how to change oil and a free car wash. This class is free for all single Airmen.

With staff members whose automotive knowledge is vast, and their willingness to guide always present, the Auto Skills Center is the right place to be when time allows.

"We are always incorporating customer recommendations and needs into our classes," said Keith Robertson, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron skills development manager. "Our teaching philosophy is to meet each student according to their unique needs and skill sets, and we will continue to guide our students well after their initial class."

"Major incentives to our classes include building a practical skill set, saving time and money and being able to identify automotive problems before they occur," he continued. "Our students continuously reap the benefits of our facilities as well as our one-on-one guidance in applying the information they learn."

One such student was Airman 1st Class James Harlequin, 27th Special Operations Communications Squadron infrastructure technician.

"In the last five months I have taken several different classes at the Auto Skills Center and all that I have learned is proving invaluable; I highly recommend all the classes offered. On a scale from one to 10, I would rate all classes that I have taken at a 10."
