A deployed member of the 27th Special Operations Wing at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., was recently coined by Chief Master Sgt. James A. Cody, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, Feb. 6.

Airman 1st Class Harold Kimble, 27th Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron, was selected for this recognition by leadership because of his exemplary teamwork and attitude at his deployed location.

"He is always ready to support our team needs, whether it falls into his duties or not," said Chief Master Sgt. Lynette Harshman, 701st Expeditionary Special Operations Support Squadron superintendent. "Kimble doesn't just sit at his desk and wait for work to come his way; he goes out and finds things that need to be done without being asked."

Kimble, an Anniston, Ala., native, was deployed short-notice to backfill an NCO assignment as a logistics planner. He is responsible for assisting with reception and redeployment activity of all Combined Joint Special Operations Air Component personnel and cargo in theater.

"When I was first tasked to deploy to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, I wasn't sure what to expect," Kimble stated. "When I got here, I learned how our other military services perform operations in a joint unit."

"When I received the coin and recognition from Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Cody, it was both an honor and surprise," he added. "I wasn't expecting that and I am most thankful to my parents, Stan and Vivian Kimble, for their support. I would not be who I am today without them."
