A packed Drop Zone, was filled with laughter and boisterous Air Commandos singing along to the top songs of the recent decades during a performance from the Air Force band, Max Impact, at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., Jan. 26.

"It was a great time," said Airman 1st Class Dylan Tye, 27th Special Operations Support Squadron Aircrew Flight Equipment. "I'd love it if we had more events like this. I come out every time they have a band playing. It's a great morale booster and everyone enjoys themselves."

Master Sgt. Ryan Carson, Max Impact vocalist, said he wasn't sure what to expect at Cannon, but was pleasantly surprised.

"Cannon showed up and it was pretty awesome to see everyone singing along and having a good time," said Carson. "The people out here are fantastic - we loved it! We'd come back anytime."

"You guys don't have a lot of the amenities that most of the other bigger bases have, so you're almost forced to form a bond that's kind of unique," he said. "I could see that in the crowd - the camaraderie and morale is actually high here. You may not have all the niceties, but I think what separates Cannon from other bases is the people."

A crowd of more than 120 Airmen and their families attended the performance. For more upcoming events, visit the 27th Special Operations Wing's Facebook page or check out the At Your Service magazine.
