A Martin Luther King Jr. observance luncheon was conducted at the Landing Zone at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., Jan. 23.

The luncheon was held to recognize past hardships and prejudices that King faced during his fight for freedom as a civil rights activist.

The keynote speaker for the event was Lt. Col Marcus Brazell, 727th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander. During the event, a slideshow was presented displaying photos throughout King's life. Whether it was by preaching or leading a march toward Washington, D.C. and giving a speech that would later impact millions across the world, King made a lasting difference.

Brazell ended the luncheon, leaving those in attendance with the question, "What are you doing for others?"
