New Mexico Bowl hosts Airman Published Dec. 17, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Xavier Lockley 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M., -- The Gildan New Mexico Bowl donated more than 500 tickets to Airmen at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., for their Dec. 15, football game. The two teams featured in the bowl were the University of Arizona Wildcats and the University of Nevada Wolf Pack. Air Commandos from the 27th Special Operations Wing ventured to Albuquerque, N.M., to enjoy a fierce battle between the two teams. In the end, Arizona defeated Nevada 49 to 48 in a down-to-the-wire final touchdown. Before the game, fans were treated to live music, face painting, an appearance by Santa Claus and tailgating games throughout the morning "Even though it was cold, the experience was great," said Airman 1st Class Jermone Leach, 27th Special Operations Communications Squadron cyber surety technician. "I'm glad that we had the opportunity to enjoy something like this, especially a game that had you on the edge of your seat."
