Cannon to host Commando Cookie Drop Published Nov. 29, 2012 By Senior Airman Whitney Tucker 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- To the dismay of gingerbread men and women everywhere, the First Sergeant's Association at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., is scheduled to host a Commando Cookie Drop at the Cannon Community Chapel, Dec. 14, 2012. The cookie drop, which will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., provides Air Commandos and members of the local community an opportunity to get in the holiday spirit while bringing the comforts of home to more than 700 single Airmen who are unable to celebrate with their families this year. Participants are encouraged to package homemade cookies in disposable containers that will be repurposed and handed out to eligible Airmen. A drive through drop off will be open at the front and side of the base chapel to accommodate even the busiest of bakers. No cookie - pumpkin spice or sugar, sprinkled with icing or drizzled with glaze - will be discriminated against as members of the 27th Special Operations Wing endeavor to give Air Commandos the holiday they deserve and keep dentists in business this year.
