Coalition ground force support

The 16th Special Operations Squadron participated in a routine exercise as part of continuous training efforts at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., Nov. 8.

The squadron's AC-130H Spectre gunship supported training of coalition ground forces while flying over White Sands Missile Range, N.M.

The AC-130H Spectre gunship is a heavily armed aircraft designed for close air support, armed reconnaissance, interdiction, night search and rescue and airborne command and control. The 16 SOS trains and maintains its combat-ready force to provide highly accurate firepower in support of both conventional and unconventional forces.
