Wing leadership with the 27th Special Operations Wing took time to honor and recognized the newest Chief Master Sergeant selects at the Landing Zone at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., Nov. 9.

Senior Master Sgt. Timothy Jordan, 27th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Senior Master Sgt. Anthony Steffen, 27th Special Operations Maintenance Squadron, and Senior Master Sgt. William Caton, 727th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, celebrated with family and friends after formally having their eighth and final stripe tacked onto them.

Only one percent of the total enlisted force will ever serve as a chief and Cannon's leaders ensured the momentous occasion was not overlooked.

Commanders, chiefs, first sergeants and base leadership came out to express sincere congratulations to their colleagues and fellow wingmen.

The three soon-to-be chiefs all shared a similar sentiment - relief to have made it so far and high hopes and expectations for the road ahead.
