May 18, 2012 -- In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week. The 27th Special Operations Security Forces Squadron recognized National Police Week this year by organizing several events at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. and in the local community.
