Dan Guinan 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- As the pace of improvements to Cannon continues to accelerate, the 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron will be upgrading the base electrical distribution network by eliminating above-ground cables that are susceptible to damage from high winds. To properly bury these lines personnel will need to conduct several road cuts and closures. From Jan. 23 through Jan. 27, Trident Avenue will be closed at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard during the day while contractors trench and lay duct bank across the road. At 4 p.m. each afternoon, the area will be reopened to traffic overnight. Similar work will be required on Sextant Avenue and the Shoppette entrance during the month of February.
