New honorary commanders visit Cannon

CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Col. Dave Piech, 27th Special Operations Mission Support Group commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Dan Koning, 27 SOMSG superintendent, escorted local elected officials and community members serving as honorary commanders Dec. 12 at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M.

The 27th Special Operations Wing Honorary Command Program is geared toward fostering military pride and local support from a broad group of Cannon ambassadors. Over their year-long tenure, the 27 SOW Honorary Commanders will visit each group at Cannon in order to develop a deeper understanding of the mission.
