The annual Combined Federal Campaign at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., that kicked off Oct. 27 has been extended with a new end date of Dec. 15. The CFC is a program that allows military members and federal government employees the opportunity to pledge toward various charities.

The CFC has already raised more than $113,000, but the base commander authorized the extension of the campaign to ensure every Air Commandos receives an opportunity to donate.

The 27th Special Operations Wing is at 76 percent of their goal of $150,000, with the 27th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in the lead for most funds raised. The 524th Special Operations Squadron is also leading the way with the largest singular pledges.

"The goal is to push out as much information about the campaign during these final days as possible to ensure that everyone who wants to donate can," said Capt. Stephen Emborski, 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron Explosives Ordnance Disposal Flight commander and CFC project manager. "It really helps to have squadrons like the 524th SOS donating the larger denominations, but in the end, every contribution makes a difference."

For assistance in finding a unit representative, contact Capt. Emborski by e-mail or call 575-784-2909. During duty days, donations may also be made during CFC hours, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., on the second floor in Building 1.
