Power outage scheduled at Cannon Published Nov. 10, 2011 By Senior Airman Jette Carr 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- To analyze repairs needed to upgrade the electrical power substation at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., a base power outage is scheduled Nov. 19, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., to include Chavez Manor housing. The Pecos Trail dining facility, Commissary, and Base Exchange will open for their regular business hours, but the golf course will be closed. During the power outage 911 services will operate normally. Housing residents are encouraged to have flashlights, use coolers and ice chests to store food and have a day's supply of water prepared. To prevent food from spoiling, keep refrigerators and freezers closed. During the outage, traffic signals will also be out - drive cautiously and obey posted signs. Please note that the phone number for updates will not be activated with power outage information until the day of the scheduled outage.
