A&FRC to host career expo at Cannon Published July 21, 2011 By Airman 1st Class Alexxis Pons Abascal 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The Airman & Family Readiness Center will hold a career focus expo from 4 to 6 p.m., July 28 at the Landing Zone here. The event will provide assistance with job searches, an overview of community employment agencies, online information, re-training and career placement opportunities and job seeker information, said Charles Harris, A&FRC section chief. According to Harris, the local area provides limited job opportunities. This career expo is a combined community effort to assist individuals who are searching for employment. It provides a central location where they can receive information about job opportunities. "Job seekers need more guidance when it comes to finding jobs", said Harris. "Our people deserve more". More than a dozen local employers will be attending the event to recruit potential employees, said Harris. The expo was planned in response to customer feedback, said Harris. In other words, this is purely a customer-driven event. The A&FRC will provide complimentary food to those attending. For more information call the A&FRC at 575-784-4228.
