Children at Cannon's Child Development Center observed the Month of the Military child April 8 with a parade around the building while dressed in their parents' uniforms.  CDC employees carried a banner in the parade made with the kids' hand prints.  Parents were invited to watch or march with their children.

The kids showed mixed emotions about the military way of life when pre-school teachers asked how it feels to be a military child.  A.J., age 4, said, "I feel happy because it's so much fun."

Fin, age 3, said, "Sad, because daddy goes to military school."

Adrian, age 4, said, "Sad, because my mommy leaves."

Jayden, age 5, said, "You get to be in a parade and really have fun!"

Throughout April, kids at the CDC drew pictures expressing what it means to be a military child, read books, sang songs, and participated in other activities to celebrate being military children.
