Adopt an Air Commando wants you
Airmen who would like to connect with local families should contact the Airmen and Family Readiness Center at 784-4228.

The Adopt an Air Commando Program focuses on two needs for base airmen and their families; establishing an identity with the community and fostering a strong bond with the surrounding area. The program helps airmen experience New Mexico in a different light and fosters new friendships.

Applications being accepted for Teen Council
Applications for the Air Force Teen Council are now being accepted. The AFTC is a network of teens working to resolve issues and voice concerns to the highest levels of AF leadership on behalf of teens globally or worldwide. The goals of the Air Force Teen Council are to:
· Increase and improve communication between Air Force teens and Air Force leadership Cultivate an environment of civic leadership among teen members
· Increase relevancy of Air Force Youth Programs in teens' lives
· Initiate change which will improve quality of life for AF youth and teens

Single Airmen's Christmas Dinner
The annual Single Airmen's Christmas Dinner is scheduled for Dec. 14, 6-8 p.m. at the base chapel.

In addition to a free holiday meal, there will be entertainment and drawings for plenty of gifts. The event is hosted by the Committee of Fifty.

Save a Life Tour
The Department of Defense sponsored Save a Life Tour will visit the base Dec. 8 - 9 and give Air Commandos a realistic sober perspective on the effects of driving while intoxicated.

Free CD for Troops
CD for Troops IV is available as a free download for active duty Service members, veterans and their families worldwide with a valid military ID at www.shopmyexchange.com.

The CD contains 14 tracks from recording artists such as Matchbox 20, Barenaked Ladies and Gavin DeGraw.

Help a child learn
James Bickley Elementary school needs volunteers for their mentoring program. Help a child, K-2, learn to read at grade

Contact the school at 769-4450 or 749-3941 and ask for Theresa Spann. It's once a week for 35 minutes.

Holiday parade coming
Mark your calendar for the Cannon Holiday Parade on Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. Call 2nd Lt. Marilyn Smith, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron, at 784-1616, to get involved or for more information.

Club council wants you
The Cannon Club Advisory Council is looking for members. Council members meet once a month to discuss the degree of member satisfaction, make suggestions for new products and services, and discuss house rules, hours of operation and the general business operation of the club.

Chapel events
Cannon Food Pantry
If you ever find yourself in need of food assistance, The Cannon Food Pantry is available to help. You can stop by the chapel to pick up a box of dried food anonymously.

The Food Pantry also accepts dried food donations at the chapel in a box located in the main hallway. All we ask is that the food not be expired if you drop it off.

Officers' Christian Fellowship Bible Study
A new Officers' Christian Fellowship Bible study meets every Thursday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Bring your lunch and join us for an hour of study at the chapel in Room 7 of the education wing.

Young Adult Bible Study
This is a weekly Bible study for young adults wanting to learn or know more about the Bible. Open to all young Airmen or civilians, single or married. Child care is not provided.

The study takes place at the base chapel in Room 10 every Wednesday evening from 6-7:15 p.m., preceded by a free chapel dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Protestant Women of the Chapel
Protestant Women of the Chapel offers Bible studies on Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6 pm. Groups meet in the religious education wing of the base Chapel.
Activities are provided for children.

Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service
Mark your calendars! The chapel's Annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held Nov 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the chapel. There will be a potluck pie social following the service.

Aglow International Prayer Group (Charismatic/Pentecostal)
An International Prayer Group (Charismatic/Pentecostal) meets Wednesdays, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chapel Education Wing, Room 10.

Aglow International is a nondenominational woman's group that practices prayer in the Spirit. Everyone is invited.

New contemporary worship service
Come join us in a contemporary protestant worship service taking place the third Sunday of each month from 6:10 - 6:40 a.m. The service is being held in auditorium of Bldg. 123 and includes music, a bible study and communion.
