Commercial sponsors help reduce costs Published July 26, 2010 By Senior Airman Elliott Sprehe 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- To offset the costs of the many events for Airmen and their families many events hosted by the 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron have commercial sponsorship. The commercial sponsorship may be from local businesses in the community as well as larger national corporate sponsors. Helping to recruit these businesses comes from a position in the 27 SOFSS's commercial sponsorship office. "I provide support for activities through SOFSS by seeking sponsorship from local or corporate businesses," said Yolanda Romero, 27 SOFSS, who is currently manning the office. "Aside from offsetting the cost for prizes and the event itself, they can also assist in providing food, physical money, and more," said Ms. Romero. The position is open to all qualified persons, though military spouses do receive preference, said Patty Vaughn, chief of non-appropriated funds human resources, 27 SOFSS. All spouses need are PCS orders that identify them as a dependent. Anyone interested in applying for the commercial sponsorship office position or any number of other jobs should visit the 27 SOFSS's Web site at www.cannonafbservices.com for more information. The force support squadron's community events must be self supporting and provide services for a profit.
