Cannon Royale on the horizon

  • Published
A night of class in royal fashion is in store for Air Commandos as the base hosts its first Cannon Royale starting with a social hour at 7 p.m., June 12, at The Landing Zone.

According to Capt. Jason Brown, one of the organizers, the evening  will serve as a precursor to the Air Force Ball in September. There will be hors d' oeuvres, desserts and a coffee bar, along with cocktails, DJs and dancing. Attire for the event is semi-formal (collared shirt with jacket) or formal.  No one is required to wear a military uniform.

For each ticket purchased, patrons will receive chips that can be used to bid on such things as prizes and reserved parking spots at The Landing Zone or to compete and win more chips in events such as Wii Boxing, PS3 Ultimate Fighting Champion, a silent or a live auction.

The cost for the evening ranges from $8 for Airmen (E-4 and below) and GS-4s, to $16 for chief master sergeants, colonels and GS-9s and above.

Those who wish to attend must RSVP  by June 4.
