Air Force Trees Across America
Col. Steven Kimball, 27th Special Operations Mission Support Group commander, and Lt. Col. Anne Coverston, 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron commander, plant a Bald Cypress tree at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. April 22, Earth Day. The Air Force joins millions across the nation and around the globe in observing Earth Day,to celebrate its daily commitment to the Earth Day theme "Action Today for a Greener Tomorrow." In honor of Earth Day's 40th Anniversary, 39 former and active air force bases across America planted 40 trees in 40 communities as a symbol of the Air Forces commitment to environmental protection.
