Prescribed burns scheduled for Melrose range Published April 22, 2010 By 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The 27th Special Operations Wing will be conduct a series of prescribed burns at Melrose Air Force Range beginning April 28. These fires reduce the amount of vegetation in the targeted areas and help reduce the risk of wildfires caused by training or by natural causes such as lightning.
