Leslie Scott, with the volunteer organization Soldier's Angels, has sent more than 600 pounds of supplies such as toiletries, quilts, calling cards, and other requested items to wounded servicemembers at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, since she joined the program in June 2007.

Mrs. Scott, wife of Major Nathan Scott, a pilot with the 73rd Special Operations Squadron, started a supply drive in Clovis and Cannon for Landstuhl in October, which continues to steamroll.

"First, we manned a table in front of Wal-Mart for a Saturday." she said. "For the month of October I had a drop box set up at our church and received donations there. Ellen Saccoia-Smith at the Airman's Family and Readiness Center helped me with writing letters to local agencies asking for their support and I received multiple cash donations to help with shipping costs."

A large donation was made by a fellow volunteer organization, "Adopt a Soldier," which is based out of Roswell.

After Impact Confections, the largest manufacture of 3-D lollipops in the United States, donated a large amount of lollipops to Nicole Vargas, creator of the Roswell's Adopt a Soldier program, she realized there was more than enough to go around and donated 72 boxes, roughly 10,368 lollipops to the supply drive for Landstuhl, said Ms. Vargas.

"I've pulled out all the red, green and white lollipops and included them in Christmas treat bags along with some chocolate, candy canes and a handwritten note," said Mrs. Scott. "So far I've shipped about 300 treat bags."

A drop off box for Soldier's Angels is at the Airmen and Family Readiness Center. A list of the items needed can be found at www.soldiersangels.org.
