Community Notes Published Oct. 7, 2009 CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- New hours at CDC The Child Development Centers and Youth Centers now opens at 6 a.m. The extended hours will be evaluated in 60 days to determine usage. Medical Town Hall A medical town hall meeting will be held Oct. 15 at noon in the Wingman's Conference Hall (the Atrium area). This is a forum for the 27th Special Operations Medical Group and its beneficiaries to interact and address concerns. New hours at the Thrift Store, Airmens Attic The Cannon Spouses Club Thrift Store and Airmens Attic's new hours are Monday and Thursday , 9 a.m - 1 p.m., Tuesday 3-6 p.m. and the third Saturday of each month, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. The Airmen Attic is open to active duty Airmen and their dependents. Furniture, clothes jackets, shoes and more are available. New official mail center hours The official mail center customer service window is now open for mail pickup Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wall of Survival on display October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Cannon public is invited to visit the "Breast Cancers Wall of Survival and Remembrance" in the 27th Special Operations Medical Group atrium. The wall is a tribute to those who have survived breast cancer and in memory of those who have died. Feel free to add your loved one's name and obtain information on breast cancer. Holiday bowling Cannon Lanes will open Oct. 12, Columbus Day, 1-7 p.m. on a trial basis to determine if patronage warrants more holiday openings. Fire Prevention Week The Cannon Fire Department will host the National Fire Prevention Week campaign through Oct. 10. This year's theme is "Stay Fire Smart." Open house will be at the fire department, Bldg. 158 on Oct. 7, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The Fire Muster at Unity Park has been rescheduled to begins at 9 a.m. on Oct. 16. Festivities include the bucket brigade, obstacle course, truck pull, hose relay and more. The new schedule will be: Burger King Monday through Friday: 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. for the drive thru and 6:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. for the dining room.
