Airman appreciates job well done

(Note: the following e-mail was sent to the 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs Office.)

My wife, Amy, suffered a severe break in her left wrist riding her horse
recently, which required surgery from an orthopedic surgeon in Lubbock. I
feel that Tanis Cathey, 27th Special Operations Medical Support Squadron,
went above and beyond her duties to ensure that my wife got the proper
medical care she needed. She ensured that the required paper work was
processed expeditiously.

Initially, I was informed that because the surgeon and surgery center were
not in the TRICARE network, my wife and I would be billed. Ms. Cathey worked
diligently with her superiors and Dr. Garcia and her staff to ensure that
TRICARE would pay for her surgery. Ms. Cathey's support and knowledge
allowed Amy to get the surgery she needed without unnecessary delays. We
would like to thank Ms. Cathey and really appreciate what she did for us.

It is refreshing to work with someone who truly cares and will do everything
in her power to make sure the bureaucracy of insurance doesn't cloud the big
picture.

Again, thank you Ms. Cathey.
