School & Sports physicals: School and Sports physicals are provided by the 27th Special Operations Medical Group for children of Cannon military families at the Family medicine and Flight Medicine flight medicine clinics through the end of July.

Med Group closures
The 27th Special Operations Medical Group, to include the pharmacy and all ancillary services, will close on the following dates, times and reasons: 

June 25 at 12 p.m. for Mission Orientation Training

Thursday, July 2nd at 12 p.m. for Air Force Special Operations Command Safety Day 

July 3, all day, for July 4 observance

July 6 at 12 p.m.for Wing Readiness Training

July 4 weekend dining facility hours: The Pecos Trail Dining Facility will be open the following hours during the July 4 weekend: 

July 2: Brunch, 6 a.m.-1 p.m., dinner, 5-7 p.m.
July 3,4 : Brunch 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., dinner, 5-7 p.m.
July 5: Brunch 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., dinner 5-7 p.m..

There are no midnight meals July 2,3 and 4.

 A free retreat at Bonita Park in Ruidoso, N.M., June 26-28, is available for all active duty single Airmen.

Got Adventure?
How about  white water rafting on the Royal Gorge, zip line Big Horn Sheep Canyon and camp in beautiful Colorado? The trip is scheduled July 2-5.

Durango getaway
The Youth Center is planning a trip to Durango, Colo for teens,13-18), July 15-17. The trip will consist of three days of horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and camping.

Summer food program under way
There will be a free summer meal program for children that runs until August 7 in Clovis and Portales. The program  provides children with healthy balanced meals during summer. The meals are served Monday to Friday, breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Breakfast sites served from 8-9 am: 801 housing, Bella Vista Elementary, Dennis Chavez Park, Highland Elementary, James Bickley Elementary, La Casita Elementary, Rierson Park, Hammett Street YRB, 7th and Sycamore

Lunch Sites 11a.m.-1 p.m.: 801 housing, Bella Vista, Campbell Field ,Dennis Chavez Park, Highland Elementary, James Bickley Elementary Casita Elementary Sandoval Park, 200 Rencher,Potter Park,Rierson Park , Hammett St., Sandia Elementary, Sunrise Addition, YRB, 7th and Sycamore.

In Portales, the lunch program will run 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the following locations:  Rotary Park, City Park, Lindsey Park, (This park is closest to base housing), Morrison Park, Portales Recreation Center and  ENMU Kids College.

Summer Reading programs
Sign up at the Cannon Library for this program that runs from  though July 30. This year's theme is "Be Creative." The program is open to kids up to 18. 

Also, "Book Over to Bowling" bookmarks are ready for pick up at the library. The bookmarks expire Aug. 30. Call (575) 784-2786 for more information.

Book Over to Bowling  program through August 14. Children who read five Cannon Library books can bowl a free game at Cannon Lanes.  Return the books and  receive credit .

Library Swap Shop Redemption Days are June 25-27. Bring in your gently used books, movies, music and audio books during operating hours. and receive ticket for each item you drop off which can then be used during redemption days to select materials left by others.

Whispering Winds dining room closed
The dining room at Whispering Winds golf course is closed until further notice.

Breakfast is available at the Drop Zone at 7 a.m., and lunch is available at The Landing, the Drop Zone and at Cannon Lanes.

Stress Reduction/Management class
The Health and Wellness Center will host   classes on the fourth Friday of each month. They are available for all active duty personnel, beneficiaries, retirees, and civilians. Sign up through the HAWC by calling (575) 784-1004. 

Joint Mobility/Early Morning Recharge class
Classes will be held at the Cannon Fitness Center racquetball area on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6 to 7 a.m. to focus on joints and increasing mobility and flexibility. These are space-available classes, so no sign up
is required.

Introductory Kettlebell class
Classes will be held at the Cannon Fitness Center racquetball area on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4 to 5 p.m. on beginner kettlebell movements. Advanced workouts will not be covered. These are space-available classes, so no sign up
