Press Release - NEW MEXICO GUARD, RESERVE TO DEMONSTRATE SKILLS Published May 28, 2009 By 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs Office CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- New Mexico National Guard Soldiers and Airmen as well as local Navy and Marine Reservists will conduct a demonstration to show the importance of the reserve forces to current and potential New Mexico employers June 6 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Melrose Air Force Range. With continuing deployments of New Mexico National Guardsmen and Reservists, employers are very interested in the training National Guardsmen and Reservists receive. This demonstration will illustrate the training and skills that local military members possess. The New Mexico Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve's "Boss Lift" demonstration will include a demonstration of F-16 close air support, a parachute drop and the insertion of a rescue team by a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. The New Mexico Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is an organization that provides free education, consultation, and mediation to employers of Guard and Reserve employees.
