Cannon youth ready for America's Kid Run Published May 14, 2009 CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, NM -- Cannon youth, ages 5 to 13, are invited to particpated in the annual America's Kid Run May 16 with registration starting at 9:30 and the runs beginning at 10 a.m. Parents can also run with their children at the Cannon track. This free event begins with a shirt and number pick up at 9:30 a.m. The run distance varies according to age groups. Children 9-13 will old run two miles and begin at 10 a.m. Children 7-8 run one mile and start at 10:05 a.m. while children 5-6 run half a mile and begin at 10:10 a.m. Refreshments will be provided at the finish line. The America's Kids Run Event will provide 20,000 children 5-13 an opportunity to participate on Air Force, Navy, and Army bases worldwide. The event offers an opportunity for children of military personnel to participate in a fun event on military bases as part Armed Forces Day celebrations and May Fitness Month promotions.
