National Police Week activities Published May 6, 2009 By 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs Office CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The following activities are being held or participated by members of the 27th Special Operations Security Forces Squadron as part of National Police Week. May 9 - Annual Motorcycle Rally Lunch, raffles and more beginning at 8:30 a.m. at High Plains Harley Davidson in Clovis, N.M. May 11 - Defender Stakes Memory Test, weapons test and more at Combat Arms beginning at 9 a.m. May 13 - Police Agency Display Beginning at 10 a.m. at North Plains Mall in Clovis, N.M., there will be Military Working Dog demonstrations, Military Weapons Display, McGruff the Crime Dog and more. Civilian police agencies will also have law enforcement displays. May 14 - Jail and Bail Nominate personnel from one's respective squadron to go to "jail." The minimum amount to send someone to jail is 50 cents per minute. The mock "jail" will be in the Base Exchange parking lot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 15 - Memorial Ceremony A memorial ceremony for fallen peace officers will be held at Bldg. 575 at 3 p.m. May 16 - Golf Tournament Early Saturday morning, a golf tournament will be held at the Whispering Winds Golf Course on base.
