Expect delays

Individuals visiting the base Aug. 25-29 can expect delays and to see Force Protection Condition levels increase due to an annual installation-wide anti-terrorism exercise.

Base officials suggest that individuals who live outside the local area and need access to Cannon Aug. 25-29 should consider rescheduling their visits as access to areas such as the commissary, Base Exchange, or clinic could be difficult.

The exercise fulfills a Department of Defense and Air Force Special Operations Command requirement that requires participation by all 27th Special Operations Command and tenant units.

During the latter part of the exercise only mission-essential and commercial delivery vehicles will be allowed access through the Portales Gate. All privately owned vehicles must use the Main Gate entrance.
