New commander for 27th MOS Published June 20, 2007 By 27th Fighter Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Maj. John Johnson takes command of the 27th Maintenance Operation Squadron in a change of command ceremony at 9 a.m. on June 29 at Hangar 133. He replaces Maj. David Nicholson whose next assignment will be at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Maj. Johnson is a prior enlisted Marine who accepted an inter-service transfer to the Air Force. He graduated from Officer Training School in 1995. Among his assignments in the Air Force includes duty at Hurlburt Field, Travis Air Force Base, Calif. and Robins AFB, Ga.
