Military Spouse Appreciation Day
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will honor spouses May 11 in observance of Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Digital family photos will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Special gifts will be presented and there will be a drawing for gift baskets in the afternoon. 
Individuals can register for the gift baskets once a day, May 7 -11.

Airman' s Attic
The Airman' s Attic is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 12. Staff sergeants and below and their dependents can select up to 20 free items per week for family use.
Donations are welcome, but do not leave donations outside the door.

Executive Leadership Development Program
The Department of Defense has allocated at least two active-duty Air Force officer nominees to participate in the 2007 Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP), scheduled to begin in October 2007. 
The program seeks active-duty officers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability, integrity and who have an interest in moving into senior management positions.
In simulated environments, officers operate in real-life situations involving deadlines and effectively conceptualizing and analyzing problems.
Active-duty military personnel must apply to Headquarters AFPC/DPAFE no later than May 15. For more information, call 784-2094.

VA center hosts Cannon NCOs
The Cannon chapter of the Air Force Sergeants Association will be guests for a musical production at the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center in Amarillo on May 15. There will also be the opportunity to visit with the veterans there. 
Interested individuals should meet in the lobby of the Cannon BX at 9:30 a.m. Airmen may wear any combination of blues to the event.

National Women's Health Checkup Day
A walk-in clinic for women is 1-3 p.m. on May 17 for pap smears, breast exams and mammograms. 
Finger foods and literature on women's health issues will be available.

VA Seminars
A VA representative will be at the Airman and Family Readiness Center on May 15. He will offer the following seminars for Airmen transitioning out of the military: 
1 to 1:30 p.m. - Differences between the medical evaluation board and a Veterans Administration claim 
1:30 to 3 p.m. - Service medical records review and VA claim procedures. 
3 to 4 p.m. - A question and answer period about different benefits. 
Individual appointments to review completed medical claim forms will be available from 9 a.m. to noon.

Right Start
The next Right Start will be at The Landing on May 16, from 7:30 to 11:45 a.m. All newly arrived Airmen, except those at the First Term Airmen's Center, must attend.

Bundles for Babies
Bundles for Babies will be at the Airman and Family Readiness Center from 8:30 - 11 a.m. on May 17. The class offers an array of information, including physical changes a mother can expect while she is pregnant, how to care for a baby and financial aspects of having a baby. 
The class is open to women who are at least 20 weeks pregnant or who have a newborn under three months old. Active-duty Air Force members or spouses of active-duty members receive gift bundles worth approximately $75 upon attending the class. 
Due to space availability, please do not bring children.

Operation Homefront Quilts
Operation Homefront Quilts will meet from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center on May 18, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to assist the local group make quilts for families who lost loved ones in the war. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided.
