The Steadfast Line is now offering the Exclusive Program Initiative for Commandos, or EPIC, aiming to connect Air Commandos and their families with people of similar interests through various activities.

EPIC integrates key resiliency components and targets specific audiences to enhance daily services and deliver meaningful support for those stationed at Cannon AFB.
Among the offerings are the single airmen program, which provides discounted events for unwed or unaccompanied Airmen of all ranks; the deployed program, which offers activities and support for both the deployed member and their family for up to a year after returning home; and the family program, which gives active duty families stationed at Cannon access to events at a single family rate for immediate family members.

Those who qualify to participate in one of the three programs offered will see significant savings when signing up for an activity through EPIC.

“EPIC helps supplement the cost of the event or trip, so savings go back into their pocket,” said the Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT) manager. “The events go through a calculated system to determine the discounted rate, sometimes even a 40-50% deduction from the original price, depending on the event.”

Whether it's skydiving at 12,000 feet with outdoor recreation, exploring glass blowing or Meow Wolf in Santa Fe through ITT, learning basic car maintenance with an auto skills oil change class, or taking flight lessons with the Aero Club, Air Commandos are sure to find an activity that sparks their interest.

“We do surveys to see what the needs and demands are for Cannon’s community as far as trips and activities go. It gives Airmen and families a feel for what New Mexico has to offer,” said the ITT manager. “The surveys can be sporadic and taken through the marketing team, online polls on our Facebook, or suggestions through ICE or quality of life meetings.”

Leadership from the 27th Special Operations Wing drove the establishment of this initiative, recognizing its value for Air Commandos. The program reinforces the first SOF Truth — “Humans are more important than hardware” — by prioritizing the well-being, resilience, and readiness of Cannon AFB’s Airmen and their families. It reflects a core belief that mission success begins with taking care of people.
