The Pecos Trail Dining Facility at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., was a hub of excitement on Nov. 13, as the first sergeants, with the assistance of several volunteers, built food baskets for Airmen in need this Thanksgiving season.

Each basket contained everything someone would need to make a Thanksgiving dinner, including a frozen turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. The turkeys were provided by the base first shirts but the fixings were provided by donations from other Airmen.

"I think this is a great program," said Master Sgt. Elizabeth Staub, 27th Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron first sergeant. "Airmen helping Airmen are what the holidays are all about."

More than 300 baskets were constructed and will be distributed by the first sergeants to Airmen in need.
