Fire Prevention Week activities scheduled Published Sept. 23, 2013 By By Senior Airman Jette Carr 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The 2013 Fire Prevention Week will be celebrated Oct. 4-11 with a variety of educational and hands-on safety activities at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. Some of the scheduled events include: Oct. 6 · Bells Across America Commemoration at 7 a.m. at the Cannon Fire Station Oct. 7 · The Friendly Monster/fire safety house from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Chavez Child Development Center Oct. 8 · The Friendly Monster/fire safety house from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the on-base CDC here · Live fire extinguisher training, the fire safety house, fire safety trailer and fire apparatus display are slated for 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Exchange Oct. 9 · Story time with Sparky from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the base library · Fire safety house and fire safety education activities from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Youth Center · Fire Station 1 Open House from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 10 · 15th Annual Squadron Muster from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Unity Park For more information on Fire Prevention Week, contact the Cannon Fire Department at 575-784-2578.
