CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Members of the Cannon and local community gathered at Unity Park here to enjoy an afternoon surrounded by nostalgia brought on by vehicles from various eras Oct. 11.
Paul Hopkins, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron Community Center manager, said the Cannon Thunder Auto Show is one of the base events that gathers members from local communities together annually to enjoy a common interest.
“This is one of the things we can do to reach out to the community and just have fun,” Hopkins said. “People really love to rally around these unique cars.”
This show saw an increase in submitted vehicles from previous ones. Hopkins mentioned the categories had been expanded each year to include a wider variety of vehicles annually.
Prizes were awarded in a number of divisions, serving as an added benefit to having the opportunity to spectate and marvel at some of the specialty automobiles around the park.
