Join us as we celebrate our Ambassadors in Blue! The Cannon Air Show is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 28 and 29, and will feature many aerial demonstrations – including the USAF Thunderbirds and 27th Special Operations Wing capabilities demonstration.

The Air Show is free and open to the public, with gates opening both days at 9 a.m.

“I would like to formally invite our surrounding communities, friends and families of the 27th SOW to the 2016 Air Show and Open House,” said Col. Ben Maitre, 27th SOW commander. “This is an opportunity to celebrate the long-standing partnership between Cannon Air Force Base and the High Plains community.”

“This Memorial Day weekend event allows us to celebrate our heritage, demonstrate the professionalism and precision flying skills of the Thunderbirds, and showcase the unique capabilities and qualities of Cannon’s Air Commandos,” he said. “Static displays of current and vintage Air Force aircraft will allow visitors to personally connect with current and former Airmen. This event will build a better understanding of the dedication and skill required to carry out our diverse missions, and improve the connection between military families and the communities in which they serve.”

The show will showcase special performances by the Wings of Blue, the USAFA Glider Team, the Shockwave Jet Truck and various aircraft: AC-130W Stinger II, AT-6 Texan, MC-130J Commando II and CV-22 Osprey. There will also be static displays of the T-38 Talon trainer, C-17 Globemaster III, and a kid zone with free laser tag.

Visitors will be able to park on the flightline for easy access through the entry control point onto the Cannon flightline to enjoy the Air Show. Shuttles will also be available to provide transportation for those in need.
