27th Special Operations Communications Squadron The 27th Special Operations Communications Squadron provides combat-ready command and control, communications and information services for the 27th Special Operations Wing to support in-garrison and deployable warfighting missions worldwide. Its Airmen operate and maintain fixed and deployable communications and information systems, equipment, personnel and information facilities for the 27 SOW, associate units and the Melrose Air Force Range. 27 SOCS is responsible for the base network and deployment of wing initial communications capability. It furnishes daily services to nearly 5,000 military and civilian personnel.
