Lt. Col. Richard Hollinger, former 9th Special Operations Squadron assistant director of operations, pilots his aircraft during his ‘fini flight’ at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, Jun. 9, 2017. Dating back to World War II, the U.S. military has celebrated pilots’ and other experienced officers’ final flights either at their current unit or their career.
