Access to the Airshow

For General Public (non-DoD ID Cardholders): The main gates open at 9:00AM to the general public. The General Public MUST enter through the main gate. Off of Highway 60/84, take the ramp onto Chindit Blvd to get to the main gate of Cannon Air Force Base. General Public will be directed by our Security Forces to ensure proper traffic flow from the gate to available parking on the flightline ramp. We recommend people carpool to help free up parking spaces. After parking and prior to entering the airshow grounds, all personnel will go through a security checkpoint manned by our Security Forces. All personnel will have to go through metal detectors and personal belongings will be subject to search to ensure everyone’s safety and security.

For DoD ID Cardholders: On the day of the airshow, the right lane to the main gate will be reserved for DoD ID cardholders only. The Portales gate will also be open to DoD ID cardholders and is the recommended gate for cardholders to ease main gate traffic. Additionally, the airshow entry control point for all DoD ID cardholders will be next to the Cannon AFB Fire Department. The only off limit parking locations on the day of the Airshow will be the Cannon Fire Department, Security Forces, and Airfield Operations.
