Contractors with Brice Construction Ltd. deploy an air rotary drilling rig as part of a pilot study civil engineering project during a per- and polyfluoroalkyl remedial investigation Nov. 18, 2021, at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. Thanks to the $16.6M contract awarded to Cannon AFB by the U.S. Air Force, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center was able to accelerate PFAS mitigation efforts and conduct a multi-tiered study of affected water at and around the Clovis-based military installation. In addition to the remedial investigation contract, the pilot study and the Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis projects will identify and evaluate alternative solutions to be implemented before the final remedy once all investigations are complete.
